MEP Contractor in Alexandria and Cairo

Building Systems That Work Together From Day One

MEP Contracting: the short answer

MEP contracting covers the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems that make a building usable: HVAC, power, lighting, low-current, water, drainage and firefighting. As an MEP contractor based in Alexandria and delivering in Cairo and across Egypt, Laurent designs, coordinates, installs and commissions all three disciplines under one contract, with one team accountable.

Problems we solve

Clashes between trades on site

Ducts, cable trays and pipes designed separately compete for the same ceiling space. We coordinate them before installation starts.

No one owns the problem

With separate contractors, a failing system becomes a dispute. With one MEP contractor, there is one party responsible for the fix.

Systems that fail at commissioning

We test each system and the way they interact, such as fire alarm signals to HVAC and pumps, before handover.

Rework after ceilings close

Coordinated drawings and inspection before close-up avoid opening finished ceilings and walls to fix services.

Process

How we deliver it

Every stage ends with a defined output, so you always know what you're approving.

  1. 01

    Brief & Load Assessment

We review the building, its use and occupancy to define cooling, power and water demand.

Deliverable: MEP design brief and load summary

  2. 02

    Coordinated MEP Design

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems are designed together, not in sequence.

    Deliverable: Coordinated MEP drawings

  3. 03

    Documentation & Approvals

We prepare specifications and drawings for approvals, procurement and installation.

    Deliverable: Specifications and approval drawings

  4. 04

    Installation

Our team installs and supervises the works to the coordinated design.

    Deliverable: Inspection records

  5. 05

    Testing & Commissioning

Each system and the interfaces between them are tested under working conditions.

    Deliverable: Test and commissioning reports

  6. 06

    Handover

We hand over working systems with the documentation your facility team needs.

Deliverable: As-built drawings and O&M manuals

Why Laurent

Why clients choose Laurent for MEP contracting

01

Three Disciplines, One Contract

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing sit with one contractor, so interfaces between them are our responsibility, not yours.
02

Clashes Solved on Drawings, Not on Site

Combined services coordination happens before procurement, when moving a duct costs a revision instead of a demolition.
03

Designed by the Team That Installs

The engineers who size the systems also supervise their installation and commissioning, so design assumptions are checked in the field.

FAQ

MEP Contracting: frequently asked questions

What does an MEP contractor do?

An MEP contractor designs, installs and commissions a building’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, including HVAC, power, lighting, low-current, water, drainage and firefighting. Laurent handles all three disciplines under one contract, coordinating them so they fit together physically and work together once the building is in use.

How much does MEP contracting cost?

MEP cost typically depends on building type and area, the systems specified, equipment choices and the level of controls and redundancy required. A hospital or data room needs far more than a standard office. Share your drawings or a project description and we will scope the systems and prepare a detailed MEP proposal.

Do you work on MEP projects in Cairo?

Yes. Laurent is based in Smouha, Alexandria and delivers MEP projects in Cairo and across Egypt. Our design, coordination and commissioning process is the same wherever the site is. Tell us your project location and timing when you contact us so we can plan site resources from the start.

Can you take on only one discipline, such as electrical or HVAC?

Yes. You can appoint Laurent for mechanical, electrical or plumbing engineering on its own. When we work on one discipline, we still coordinate with the other trades on your project to avoid clashes. For most buildings, appointing one MEP contractor for all three gives the most coordinated result.

Do you handle MEP approvals and civil defense requirements?

We prepare the MEP and firefighting drawings and documentation that authorities and civil defense typically review, and we support you through the approval process. Requirements depend on building type, size and location, so we confirm what applies to your project at the start and design to Egyptian codes and relevant international standards.

How long does MEP installation take?

MEP installation time typically depends on building size, system complexity, equipment lead times and the progress of the main construction works. Imported plant such as chillers can drive the programme. We build the MEP schedule into the overall project programme and identify long-lead items early so they arrive when needed.
